The Abdulrahman Al-Sumait University (SUMAIT University) was built on the foundation of
the former University College of Education Zanzibar (CEZ) established in 1998 by a Kuwait
based charity organization, Direct Aid. As part of our expansion programme, SUMAIT
University invites qualified Tanzanians and non Tanzanians to fill various academic and
administrative vacant posts as follows:

Professor/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer (Clinical Psychology):
Job title: Clinical Psychology
Duty station: SUMAIT University
Reporting to: Dean of Social Science

Roles & Responsibilities
 To teach Diploma, Undergraduate and post graduate students.
 To conduct seminars and tutorials.
 To do research and publish in the areas of specialization
 Any other duties as may be assigned by the university.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required
 Preferably with a PhD
 Master degree with GPA not less than 4 out or 5 or equivalent in the same
discipline.
 Bachelor degree with GPA not less 3.5 out of 5 or equivalent in the same discipline.

Quality Assurance Officer
Job title: Quality Assurance Officer
Duty station: SUMAIT University
Reporting to: DVC (Administration and Finance)

Quality Assurance Officer will lead the development, implementation and review of the
University’s quality assurance systems and processes in taught courses and research
degrees. QAO shall ensure that the University products and services meet and maintain set
standards to achieve Mission and Vision of the university.

Roles & Responsibilities
 To oversee active role in ensuring that quality assurance and enhancement activities
and issues throughout the University.
 To play an active role in ensuring that quality assurance and enhancement issues
are appropriately considered throughout the University.
 To devise procedures to inspect and report quality assurance issues
 To supervise and guide inspectors, technicians and other staff
 To appraise customers’ requirements and make sure they are satisfied
 To report all malfunctions to production executives to ensure immediate action
 To facilitate proactive solutions by collecting and analyzing quality data
 To review current standards and policies

Knowledge, skills and abilities required
 Holder of BSc/BA in Business Administration, Quality Assurance, Statistics, Project
Management, IT or equivalent from a recognized Institution. Candidates with a
Master degree could add value to the post.
 Candidates with Quality Management certificates are encouraged to apply
 Proven experience as a quality assurance staff or relevant role
 Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
 Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data collection and analysis/statistical

Internal Audit Officer
Job title: Internal Audit Officer
Duty station: SUMAIT University
Reporting to: Board of Trustee

The Internal Auditor Officer has overall responsibility for the Internal Audit functions of the
University. The position is responsible for ensuring Internal Audit is closely aligned with
industry best practices in executing the duties across the University business and financial
service sector at large. Works to ensure roles, responsibilities, and results are efficiently
coordinated and collectively optimizing the effectiveness of risk management, control and
governance of the University.

Roles and Responsibilities
 To lead Internal Audit’s change initiatives by implementing action plans relating to
risk assessment and annual planning, audit execution, audit reporting, staff
recruitment and development, audit technology, and Audit Committee reporting.
 To lead Internal Audit’s annual risk assessment and enterprise risk assessment and
planning process to develop the audit plan and ensure the plan is responsive to and
aligned with the risk profile of the University.
 To oversee the execution of individual audits defined in the audit plan ensuring the
highest level of service quality and client satisfaction.
 To issue all Internal Audit reports ensuring the reports are clear, concise, identify root
causes with practical solutions, and ultimately provide value to management.
 To meet regularly with the Audit Committee to report the status of Internal Audit’s
ongoing monitoring activities, educate/inform the committee of emerging risks and/or
exposures (whether internal or external to the bank) that should be considered, and
serve as a “thought leader” with respect to risk management and internal control best
practices.
 To proactively inform senior management of significant risks or exposures related to
internal controls, compliance, and/or governance requiring prompt attention.

Experience and Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance or other closely related field.

(CIA) or any other relevant professional qualification are encouraged to apply.
 A minimum of 3 or more years’ experience in auditing or managing finances of a
financial institution with at least three (3) years in a Management role.

Assistant Network and Systems Administrator
Job title: Assistant Network Engineer
Duty station: SUMAIT University
Reporting to: IT Manager

Roles & Responsibilities
 Should have strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
 Administer, and troubleshoot network devices including WAPs, firewalls, routers,
switches, and controllers
 Lead system administration on both Linux and Windows platforms, application
transport and network infrastructure protocols is highly desired
 Professional certification from Cisco and Microsoft will be an advantage
 Maintenance of ICT lab computers.

 To deal with admission related queries from parents and students

strong administrative skills

Laboratory Technician
Job title: Laboratory Technician
Duty station: SUMAIT University (Alhajiry Dispensary)
Reporting to: Head, Alhajiry Dispensary

A Laboratory Technician is the backbone of a lab scientific research. His/her work is almost
entirely laboratory-based and technicians may work alone or as part of a team of scientific
staff. They can work in most health and medical areas including forensics, health and
dispensary.

Roles & Responsibilities
 To provide information for patient’s diagnosis treatment by performing laboratory
tests.
 To maintain all medical equipment and materials.
 To report to the SUMAIT University Dispensary Doctor.
 To perform basic laboratory procedures such as testing specimen and record results.
 Performs any other duties that may be assigned to him or her by senior

Knowledge, skills and abilities required
 Holder of diploma in clinical laboratory or equivalent qualifications from a recognized
Institution.
 Three years of experience in Health Centre, Dispensary or other related areas.
 Fluent in English and Swahili (both written and spoken).
 Basic computer knowledge (Word and Excel) and skills in Lab information systems.
 Analytical approach to work and professionalism.
